Essex Green
Everything is Green

If you've followed the tunefilter for anytime now, you know we have a thing for those la-la-la singing, Gretch toting, 60's haircut sporting pop bands that chase happy vocal harmonies with heavy on the Fender Twin-Reverb and wah-wah pedal guitars.  Throw in a boy/girl duo and some flute, mandolin, violin, some horns and keep the mix fresh by throwing in some Irish folk sounding songs (05 - Saturday) and you've got a winner by our standards.

From the Elephant 6 recording stable, the same label that's brought you those other tunefilter favorites The Apples In Stereo, this Essex Green disc follows said label's signature psychedelic pop pattern.  The comparisons to sixties bands will be made in full force here - Donovan, Zombies, Turtles, Mammas and Papas, blah, blah, blah.  Yeah, maybe ... but who cares.  Besides, we were too young to be experiencing free sex, drugs and booze in the Summer of Love.  So don't rain on our parade, this disc just plain makes us feel good.
